Abdi Maahaay:
over decade of humanitarian work
for Somalia

I am Abdi Maahaay — a son of Somalia, a citizen of the world, and the founder of SOMCARE, a humanitarian lifeline that has restored hope to hundreds of Somali families. Born and raised on Somali soil, shaped by its strength and scarred by its suffering, I have carried the spirit of my people with me — across oceans, across continents, and into every room where change was possible.

More than a decade ago, one tragic story — the heartbreaking case of Muraya Mohamed, a 7-year-old girl whose life was shattered by violence — moved my wife and me to act. That moment wasn’t just the beginning of a rescue; it was the birth of a mission. What started with a call to Mayo Clinic turned into a nationwide movement: over 320 patients treated, doctors flown in, lifesaving surgeries performed, and medicine delivered — all driven by love for our homeland.

Through SOMCARE, I have seen Somalia not through the lens of statistics or slogans, but through the eyes of children in pain, mothers in need, and elders clinging to dignity. That experience has reshaped my soul — and awakened in me a duty to serve not just through charity, but through leadership.

In 2022, I ran for President to give voice to those left unheard. Today, I am with deeper roots, stronger allies, and unshakable faith in Somalia’s future. This isn’t about politics. It’s about people. It's about you — and the Somalia we all dream of:
A Somalia with clean water, safe roads, working schools, and lasting peace.
A Somalia where people first leadership is not the exception, but the rule.

When you support me, we change Somalia together.
You’re investing in your future, your children’s future, and the future of Somalia.

Let’s rebuild Somalia — not just as it was, but as it was always meant to be.

The People First Vision of Abdi Maahaay

Find clear, honest answers to the most common questions about our vision, values, and how you can get involved in building a new future for Somalia.

Clean Drinking Water

Every Somali deserves clean, safe, drinking water — not as a privilege, but as a right. We will invest in modern water systems, rural wells, and emergency drought response. Clean water is health, dignity, and survival — and it starts on day one.

Safe roads

Somalia’s roads should connect us, not endanger us. We'll rebuild roads to protectlives, grow trade, and unite our people. From cities to villages, saferoads are the backbone of national development.

Schools that work

Somalia's children deserve education that inspires, prepares, and empowers. We will repair, equip, and modernize schools across the Somalia. A nation that educates its you this a nation that secures its future.

Peace that lasts

Peace must go beyond silence — it must bring justice, healing, and unity. We will end the cycle of violence by building trust, not fear. Somalia deserves a peace that lasts not for months, but for generations.
